Community Service and Political Action Become One in Halloween Costume Drive
MANASSA, VA, December 7, 2003 (GNN) - A new tradition of community service began in Iowa with the birth of "Dean Corps", a group of dozens of political volunteers in Howard Dean's presidential campaign organizing donation drives for blood banks and food pantries. Since then, Dean Corps have sprung up in many states organizing campaigns to clean up litter in parks, and donate clothes to the needy and blood to the Red Cross.
