Valentine's Love In
NANAIMO, BC, Jan. 24, 2004 (CIP) - Valentine's Love In - a Chocolate Potluck and Dance - a fundraiser for Wildwood, hosted by Fred & Kathleen Schloessinger with Afriola Drumming Group, DJ and Dancing, Chocolate, Silent Auction (with close to 100 quality items) and Raffle Saturday, February 14, Bowen Park Auditorium, 500 Bowen Road, Doors open at 7 PM. Tickets $12 at: Nanaimo: Falconer Books, Island Natural Foods, Valhalla; Cedar: Cedar General Store; Ladysmith: Fraser and Naylor Booksellers. The Transgender Health Program was launched by Vancouver Coastal Health in June 2003 to bring together transgender people and loved ones, health care providers, health planners, and researchers to work on improving transgender health services in BC. Empowerment

The Goddess Within Project
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, Jan. 17, 2004 (CIP) - Each year, in the Bay area alone, 1500 women and children become homeless as a result of domestic abuse. "The Goddess Within" project is designed to empower those whose lives have been affected by domestic abuse and to raise awareness of this issue. "The Goddess Within" C.D. compilation will showcase artists and their songs, written to inspire those who are battered.
