Co-operative Model and Social Enterprise
NANAIMO,BC, Nov. 2003 (NICN) - Did you know the natural food movement was started by co-operatives? People got together to source and purchase whole foods, and it grew from there. I learned this from Marty Frost, from DevCo (Westcoast Development Cooperative). Marty Frost and his colleague Melanie Conn are co-op developers who teach in SFU’s Certificate Program for CED. Together they led a discussion of the co-operative model and social enterprise at the “Good Business” learning event on September 26th in New Westminster. Read more...
