Bowen – Saving the Day
NANAIMO, BC, Nov. 2003 (NICN) - Seen from the air, Grafton Lake is a glistening blue gem in the center of Bowen Island. Nestled in the shadow of Mt. Gardner and representing the island’s largest wetlands, the 400-acre lake property is a crucial corridor between several thousand acres of crown land running from its northwest edge to the ocean and an equally-large Ecological Reserve stretching from its opposite boundary to Bowen’s southeast coastline. Harvard University Installs Solar System
CAMBRIDGE, MA, Oct.29, 2003 (Refocus Weekly via EFSWN) - The business school at Harvard University has installed the first solar PV installation on the roof of the campus athletic facility…The system is the first solar installation at Harvard and the second-largest facility in Boston, after a U.S. Coast Guard building in the city’s north end…. Two students in the university’s graduate business administration program promoted the project, and say they used the principles on financial analysis and competitive bidding to finalize the project. The students -- Dan Cook and Brian Robertson -- head the student Sustainable Development Society.
