Straw Bale and Plastering Subtrades Required for Alberta Homes
ELIST, Jan. 16, 2006 (GoodWorkCanada.ca) - Laebon Homes is seeking subtrades for our first straw bale house to be built this spring just outside of Red Deer, Alberta. Last year we built close to 300 stick framed homes and we are very excited to be the first large, conventional builder to embrace natural building methods in our area. We are in need of subtrades to provide the expertise in straw bale raising and straw-related carpentry as well as cement/lime exterior plaster and interior clay plaster. The project is a load bearing 1662 square foot bungalow with an attached double garage. We are hoping to have the foundation and floor framing completed and ready for a bale raising some time in May, however our schedule is still flexible. If you are interested in working with us, please send an e-mail or fax briefly describing your background and experience. Feel free to include a resume, if available. Qualified applicants will be sent a set of drawings of the bungalow by e-mail (PDF format) or courier, and asked to provide a quotation.
