World Electronic Media Forum Final Report
VANCOUVER, BC, May 2004 (eCatalyst, IMPACS' monthly electronic newsletter) - The World Electronic Media Forum (WEMF) brought together broadcasters, journalists and experts to discuss, (during five plenary sessions and twelve workshops), critical issues of media content relating to world violence, violence in the media, media freedom in the information society, the influence of the media in the world political agendas, and other topics in Geneva in December 2003. Now available, the final report from the Forum is a publication that collects the speeches and positions of the 650 broadcasters from around the world present during the UN World Summit on the Information Society (Geneva, December 2003). E-LIST Reference, May 2004 (Smart Communities Network News) - The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has announced that Cycle Two of Round 3 of the its Active Living Research program is accepting full proposals requesting up to $150,000 until September 1, 2004 at 1:00 PDT. Cycle Two proposals must address one of the two priority topics: the environmental characteristics and physical activity in under-studied populations, or the impact of changes in community environments or policies on physical activity.
